I’ve been doing some reading on the email options in CRM 2011. There are four options for working with bulk emails in CRM:
- Direct Email
- Quick Campaign
- Workflow
- Mail Merge

Do note the following limitation – OOTB there is no support for tracking opening of emails or link follow-through. Use a 3rd party product for that.
