SugarCRM came to my attention a while back, and I’ve been doing recently a feature comparison. Anyways, long story short, installing SugarCRM on Linux came as a good choice since I’ve got a lot of old hardware laying around that I can’t get myself to throw out.
Looking at a lighter version that I can use on such hardware, xubuntu came to my attention. So I’ve installed it on an old netbook. Of course, stuff happens, and I have to fix the install. Basically, the network manager seems to work fine, until you restart. At that point it’s not only not connecting to the wireless network, but it’s not even showing available networks. How annoying…
Turns out that the network manager that comes packaged with xubuntu version 12.10 has a bug or something. So, the solution that worked for me involves removing that network manager and adding a new one.
First off, I have installed wicd. I used Synaptic Package Manager to install. Just run a search for it, it will pop-up in Synaptic.
Next, remove the network manager by running the following command:
sudo apt-get purge network-manager network-manager-gnome
Next, restarted the machine, and voila, all working just fine.
